One of Alavandar's main disciples was the great Tirumala Nambi (Sreesailapoornar) who resided at Tirumala doing Kaingaryam to Thiruvenkatamudayan. He had two sisters. First sister Bhumipirathi (Kandhimathi) was married to Sarvakruth Deekshitar alias Asuri Kesavaperumal in Sriperumbudur and second sister Periyi phirathi (Dyuthimati) was married to Mazhalai Mangalam (Mathuramangalam) resident Vattamani Kamalanayanabhattar. The eldest sister gave birth to a child in the yea rof Pingala (1017 AD) on the day of Chittirai Tiruvadirai and Periya Tirumalainambi being the thai maaman (uncle) gave the name of Ilayazhwar (Lakshmanan) to this child. Nine years after this in the Kurodana year (1026 AD) the younger sister gave birth to a son in month of Thai (Jan-15 to Feb 15) in the star of Punarbhusa Nakshatra. Tirumalai Nambi named the child as Govinda Perumal. Ilayazhwar is the reincarnation of Thiruvananthalwar. He later became the world-famous Jagadacharya Ramanujamunivar. Later, Govindan became the next acharya of the sriVaishnava Oran Vazhi ( one-way path) lineage succeeding Ramanuja. He was born as an amsham of Periya Tiruvadi alias Garudalwan. There is a Karnaparampara story in the place that Garudan got a curse that he will be born as a human being practicing Saivaite traditiona nd later Garudan will become Thirumaladiyavan (Vaishnavaite) again and as a result Garudan was born in Maduramangalam. Embar graces in the form of Archavathara Murthy at Maduramangalam Vaikunda Perumal Temple. The name of the temple pond (Thirukulam) is known as Garudapushkarini.
